BMTC was born during the 1985 Sunbelt Venture Capital Conference in Houston. Presidents of several local startup biomedical companies decided to form an invitation-only organization which came to be called the Bio/Medical Technology Club of Houston.
For more than 20 years the Bio/Medical Technology Club of Houston (BMTC Houston) has been a networking mainstay in Houston life sciences.
BMTC is led by a volunteer board of volunteers. Speakers representing various interests in our industry speak at monthly breakfast meetings to share ideas and encourage open debate.
Today, the Club continues to offer a vibrant forum for education, conversation and connection.
Our mission was and is to foster the development and growth of biotechnology and life science in Houston. We accomplish this mission by:
- Providing an informal forum for information exchange on the commercialization of biotechnology, bioengineering, medicine and related ideas
- Stimulating discussion regarding new commercial life science enterprises in Houston
- Fostering development of action networks united in common goals
